Documentation a game specification

Project Outline
I want to create a role playing game in a tribal fantasy setting. I want it to be open world to allow exploration and to incorporate some platforming elements as you traverse the world. I want it to have a real time battle system using swords and other traditional weapons but also incorporating magic. It would be created for the latest generation consoles such as the PS4, Xbox one, PC and Wii U in order for it to have the best graphical capabilities. This is to be a child friendly game with at most reaching a 12+ age rating or Mature rating. In order to create this I will use 3ds max, photoshop and cry engine in order to texture and create all the necessary assets, characters and levels.

Lead character
The protagonists would be a teenage boy from the main and biggest tribe in the area. War would break out and he would be required to fight. This would lead him  to travel the lands and discover the truth behind the conflict. He would start his adventure as a happy and care free boy but will mature and become more serious throughout the game.
Each village/ tribe would have a different style of clothing and so would begin with one that suits his tribe though also makes him stand out. His outfit will become customisable through unlock-able clothing and weapons.

NPC
Non-playable characters within the world would be styled in their tribal clothing and attributes. There would be non-human races for some tribes and each would have livestock that is native to each tribe. Venders and shop keepers can also be identified by a similar style in clothing that would link them together even through the different areas.
Monsters would also be styled in the environment they are found. And monsters in certain areas would be higher levels than others in areas for example closer to the starting tribe.

Vehicles
As this world is based on fantasy and traditional weapons and magic there would be no technologies but there would be vehicles in a sense such as beasts that have been tamed. The main character will have one with him from the start but won't immediately be able to use it. His stead will be named and have a personality in order for the player to also bond with it.

Environments
The world will be quite vast but in order to help the player feel like it truly is, there will be multiple climate areas such as deserts, jungles and snowy areas.  Each will have fantasy elements to make them feel other worldly. Each tribe and village will also be stylized to fit the environment and so each town will look vastly different from others.

Props

  • Environment assets such as plants, flora, ruins, rocks and trees. 
  • Main character and his main supporting characters.
  • The townsfolk of each tribe.
  • The venders and sellers.
  • All the Monsters though certain ones can be simple colour changed versions of the original  that will drop different items.
  • Boss Monsters and Rare quest monsters.
  • Livestock animals and steads.
  • Building will be different for each village and there decorations and so require separate assets Though they can be built modular to make the process quicker.
